Add the hosted SnapRender MCP server to Gemini CLI with gemini mcp add. Gemini can then capture any web page, compare devices and extract content, with OAuth sign-in or an API key header.
200 renders a month free, no card. Sign-in happens inside Gemini CLI the first time it uses the server.
https://app.snap-render.com/mcp
Gemini CLI supports remote Streamable HTTP servers and runs the OAuth sign-in when the server asks for it.
gemini mcp add -s user --transport http snaprender https://app.snap-render.com/mcp
{
"mcpServers": {
"snaprender": { "httpUrl": "https://app.snap-render.com/mcp" }
}
}
Check it worked: gemini mcp list in the shell, or /mcp inside Gemini CLI, shows the server and its tools.
Pass the key as a header instead of signing in: Get a key from your SnapRender dashboard.
gemini mcp add -s user --transport http \
--header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" snaprender https://app.snap-render.com/mcp
Runs the open-source server from npm locally. Replace YOUR_API_KEY with the key from your SnapRender dashboard. The package is snaprender-mcp on npm.

Prompts to try
SnapRender renders public pages from its own servers, with ads and cookie banners removed. Pages behind a login and localhost are out of reach; use a preview deployment or a tunnel for local work.
Gemini CLI checks the issuer on the OAuth response (RFC 9207). SnapRender returns it, so the sign-in completes; if you configured the server before October 2026, run /mcp auth snaprender again.
Checked against geminicli.com in October 2026.
