Set it up (recommended: sign in with OAuth)

Cline connects to remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP and supports OAuth for servers that use it.

1Open the MCP Servers panel in Cline, choose Remote Servers, enter the name snaprender and the URL, pick Streamable HTTP, and click Add Server.
2Sign in to SnapRender when Cline asks you to authorize the server, or use an API key header instead (below).
3Ask Cline for a screenshot.

Or run the server locally

Runs the open-source server from npm locally. Replace YOUR_API_KEY with the key from your SnapRender dashboard. The package is snaprender-mcp on npm.

Set "type": "streamableHttp" explicitly. Without it, Cline assumes the older SSE transport.

SnapRender renders public pages from its own servers, with ads and cookie banners removed. Pages behind a login and localhost are out of reach; use a preview deployment or a tunnel for local work.

Questions

Why does Cline fail to connect to the URL?+

The most common cause is a missing "type": "streamableHttp", which makes Cline try SSE. Add it, or pick Streamable HTTP when adding the server in the panel.
