Add the hosted SnapRender MCP server to Claude Code with one claude mcp add command. Claude Code can then screenshot pages, check layouts on devices and read pages as markdown while it works.
200 renders a month free, no card. Sign-in happens inside Claude Code the first time it uses the server.
https://app.snap-render.com/mcp
Claude Code supports remote HTTP servers and signs in through the browser.
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user snaprender https://app.snap-render.com/mcp
Check it worked: claude mcp list shows the server; inside a session, /mcp shows it connected with its tools.
Pass the key as a header instead of signing in: Get a key from your SnapRender dashboard.
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user snaprender https://app.snap-render.com/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"
Runs the open-source server from npm locally. Replace YOUR_API_KEY with the key from your SnapRender dashboard. The package is snaprender-mcp on npm.
claude mcp add --env SNAPRENDER_API_KEY=YOUR_API_KEY --transport stdio snaprender -- npx -y snaprender-mcp

Prompts to try
SnapRender renders public pages from its own servers, with ads and cookie banners removed. Pages behind a login and localhost are out of reach; use a preview deployment or a tunnel for local work.
It can look at any page reachable from the public internet. SnapRender renders pages on its servers, so localhost is not reachable; deploy a preview or use a tunnel, or capture locally with Playwright for purely local pages.
Use --scope project. Claude Code writes the server to .mcp.json in the repository, and each developer signs in with their own SnapRender account.
